7 years ago I asked the kids a series of questions…. I thought it would be fun to ask them the same questions again 7 years later!

1. What is something mom always says to you?
Age 7- I love you.
Age 14- You look cute.
2. What makes mom happy?
Age 7- To not be very loud in the house.
Age 14- Our family, especially me, the pets and D-town.
3. What makes mom sad?
Age 7- Whenever I leave and go somewhere with Dad. Somewhere far away. Or when you leave and you miss me and it makes you sad.
Age 14- When other people are sad.
4. How does your mom do to make you laugh?
Age 7 – When you do funny stuff.
Age 14- When you embarrasses me or say something funny.
5. What did your mom like to do when she was a child?
Age 7- Spend time shopping with your Mom. (errrrrrrrrr… for the record, I never did this. haha)
Age 14- Talk on the phone and listen to Def Leppard.
6. How old is your mom?
Age 7- 34
Age 14- 40
How tall is your mom?
Age 7- Tall? 6 to 5 feet tall.
Age 14- 5’5″ or 5’6″
8. What is her favorite thing to watch on TV?
Age 7- American Idol or Animal Cops.
Age 14- Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce and watching The Bachelor with me.
9. What does your mom do when you’re not around?
Age 7- Clean the house, pick up poop from Moose, do wash, clean the dishes.
Age 14- House chores, watch tv or cuddle Bus Stop.
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
Age 7- Being in a movie!
Age 14- Having a reality show.
11. What is your mom really good at?
Age 7- Cooking and typing.
Age 14- Making people smile, picking out clothes and being in tough situations.
12. What is your mom not very good at?
Age 7- Cartwheels.
Age 14- Science.
13. What does your mom do for her job?
Age 7- You don’t have a job!!
Age 14- Sometimes works at the Gypsy and volunteer jobs.
14. What is your mom’s favorite food?
Age 7- Margaritas! (uh oh…. time to stop drinking so many margaritas!)
Age 14- Oatmeal
15. What makes you proud of your mom?
Age 7- How you love me.
Age 14- That you’re such an amazing person, you’re very strong and really good at being my mom. I’m going to cry! And you’re good at supporting me.
16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?
Age 7- Sandy on Spongebob Squarepants.
Age 14- Mom. I don’t watch cartoons anymore.
17. What do you and your mom do together?
Age 7- Bake cookies, watch tv… play with Moose.
Age 14- Watch tv, talk, pick out outfits and cuddle pets.
18. How are you and your mom the same?
Age 7- We have matching hair and we both love each other.
Age 14- Great minds think alike!
19. How are you and your mom different?
Age 7- She is taller than me.
Age 14- I am more sassy that you.
20. How do you know your mom loves you?
Age 7- She gives me hugs and kisses and she says I love you.
Age 14- because she is always there for me and takes care of me and she says it every day.
21. Where is your mom’s favorite place to go?
Age 7- The mall!!
Age 14- Shopping at Free People! or to hang out with D town.

Age 14 – Put your dishes in the dishwasher.
Age 21 – do you have any wash?
2. What makes mom happy?
Age 14- A fridge stocked with Diet Coke.
Age 21- three things. Chicken, Gouda and oatmeal.
3. What makes mom sad?
Age 14- When there is no candy in the house..
Age 21- whenever I eat the last ANYTHING.
4. How does your mom do to make you laugh?
Age 14- When she yells at my Dad to stop wrestling with me in the house.
Age 21- when she gives the cats voices and says what they’re thinking.
5. What did your mom like to do when she was a child?
Age 14- Watch Cara play hockey.
Age 21- Tried to talk on the phone without her sisters listening.
6. How old is your mom?
Age 14- 34
Age 21- <long pause> 40
7. How tall is your mom?
Age 14- 5’4″
Age 21- 5’5″
8. What is her favorite thing to watch on TV?
Age 14- Probably Animal Cops or Ugly Betty.
Age 21- There’s too many.
9. What does your mom do when you’re not around?
Age 14- Write blogs about me.
Age 21- Watches The Bachelor and makes granola.
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
Age 14 – Inventing a new version of Tivo where there was no limit on the amount of shows you could record. (nice.)
Age 21- Artisan movie theater. (We can say no more, this is a genius plan in progress)
11. What is your mom really good at?
Age 14- Typing. (wtf???? why do my children think all I can do is type???)
Age 21- making cakes definitely. You’re good at being Gypsy, interior decorating, repurposing, etc….
12. What is your mom not very good at?
Age 14- Walking Carsten to school.
Age 21- disciplining Bus Stop.
13. What does your mom do for her job?
Age 14- She’s a professional blogger.
Age 21- Gypsy stuff.
14. What is your mom’s favorite food?
Age 14- Creme Brulee
Age 21- Oatmeal.
15. What makes you proud of your mom?
Age 14- Whenever you pick me up somewhere you are never late, you always are there for us.
Age 21- I think you’re doing really well as a single mom, with your disability, the disobedient cats and a teenager.
16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?
Age 14- Betty Boop. (ummm… should this worry me?)
Age 21- the mom from Big Hero 6.
17. What do you and your mom do together?
Age 14- Watch Lost.
Age 21- Drink gin.
18. How are you and your mom the same?
Age 14- We write the same, we like the same foods, we are both sarcastic.
Age 21- We have the same sense of humor and we look alike.
19. How are you and your mom different?
Age 14- She doesn’t appreciate my love for video games.
Age 21- Our handwriting is now different and besides gin our taste in alcohol is different and different music tastes.
20. How do you know your mom loves you?
Age 14- She doesn’t force me to eat something I don’t like.
Age 21- Because you still do my laundry.
21. Where is your mom’s favorite place to go?
Age 14- Any place that sells margaritas. (I think I may REALLY need to stop drinking margaritas.)
Age 21- That couch. (Points behind him into my living room.)
