Hurray! I am finally online! I still could not get connected with my own laptop, but we found out we can check out hospital laptops…so yeah! It’s a dial up connection and it’s slow…buy hey, it’s not like I have anywhere to go. 🙂

First of all, I want to thank you all SO MUCH for all the support and great words of encouragement. I’ve enjoyed all of the notes you’ve sent to the hospital and it makes me smile whenever a new one is brought to me.  I also appreciate all the kind messages you’ve left on my site. Mel has read them all to me and I’m so touched.

Well, today we got some not so good news. The Hematologist (blood specialist) said that they were hoping to see at least some sort of increase in my blood count numbers after the injection of B-12 yesterday. Unfortunately that was not the case. The white blood cells and the platelets were about the same, but the hemoglobin has continued to drop, which really concerns them.

Then, he gave us the news. This all could still be caused by the B-12 deficiency, which we’re all hoping it is, or it is Leukemia. Hard to believe it could be something so simple or something so devastating. I wasn’t scheduled to get more B-12 until tomorrow, but he gave me another injection today, in hopes that we’ll see better results in the morning. I keep praying that because my levels were so low, I just need more. If by tomorrow afternoon, my numbers have not improved, I will then undergo the bone marrow biopsy, which I am really NOT looking forward to. The biopsy will give us definite results and we can plan from there.

So, that’s where we are. Never in my life did I imagine I would be in this place. Things happen so fast, it’s unreal. However, I am still remaining positive. If it is indeed Leukemia, I will not give in, we’ll stay strong and fight it.
